For adequate nutrition, one’s gastrointestinal tract (GIT) system must involve ‘digestion‘, ‘absorption‘ and ‘metabolism‘ of substances from food. Not one or the other. Problems with digestion and metabolism (eg. food intolerance or allergies) may cause problems with absorption of nutrients. Consult with your doctor or nutritionist if you are having issues with digestion.
Your diet should include a wide variety of foods like vegetables, fruit, whole grain, lean meat and low-fat dairy products to enhance and promote health. The Australian Government, Department of Health recommends including these nutrients, in particular, to improve your memory!
